June 2005 TAP Consulting unveiled its Outreach Planning and Assessment Toolkit, developed in collaboration with The National Center for Outreach (NCO) of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. This online tool is designed to help plan outreach activities and create customized assessment tools to measure the impact of public broadcasting's outreach programs. The Toolbox has interactive tools and templates for planning, data collection instruments, data analysis and reporting methods. Supporting materials provide examples of effective assessment practices and links to additional assessment resources on the Web. Verbatim comments from the 2005 NCO Conference in Boston:
TAP Consulting and Twin Cities Public TV, producer of "The Forgetting: A Portrait of Alzheimer's," are developing instructional materials based on the program to be directed towards educating and training physicians and patients about the disease. April 2005 PBS's show on Alzheimer's Disease, "The Forgetting," produced by Naomi Boak, was broadcast nationally in January 2004. It recently received an Emmy for Outstanding Non-fiction. TAP and the National Center for Outreach are proud to have contributed to this educational effort by conducting the impact assessment for outreach activities related to the program.
